i have never denied it. and i never will.
it’s just part of what i am.
like i have blue eyes.
can’t help it.
i am a romantic
bluebells in the forest in hampshire . . . in england.
it’s a particular way of viewing the world.
i try to be a realist. but it doesn’t work for me.
i don’t have weird flights of fancy nor
do i have a problem with accepting reality actually.
it’s just that . . .
i simply prefer seeing the world the way i want to see it!
i don’t get in anybody’s way doing this.
it’s just the way i see life.
there’s beauty everywhere.
and thanks to the internet now . . .
it’s so easy to travel.
to enjoy sites one would never see otherwise.
SO . . .
today. i’ll take you with me.
i wanted to visited my beloved england.
the one and only time i got to go there . . .
we pretty much stayed in london.
next time . . .
doubtfully. she said. she sighed.
but . . .
one must NEVER EVER EVER give up!
as sir winston churchill admonished us . . .
so . . .
i plan to visit the wonderful little villages.
but for now . . .
i’ll share first with you a home.
we’ll peek inside. people actually live here.
it’s not a magazine layout. it’s a home in
hampshire on the southern coast of england.
the same area of this famous place below . . .
and if you watch the show . . .
you’ll need no caption! LOLOL.
highclere castle of downton abbey fame
the cool spring english sun is streaming through the village.
we’ve been invited to tea.
it’s my friend penelope.
she said whenever i’m in town to be sure and zip down the motorway.
she’ll put us up for a night. i’m sure she won’t mind if you come along.
we can walk in the green. and maybe take in a pub or two!
penelope! it’s us!
oh! the door is open old bean!
she’s waiting for us.

baby nigel’s wellies are standing right next to the big ones.
i knew you’d love my friend penelope old bean!
and she makes the most mouth watering
with clotted cream and fresh strawberry jam!
if you want to curl up here with a good book . . .
you surely can. or just take a little snooze in the easy chair.
whatever pleases you.
you are most welcome here.
she told me the reason she chose such wonderful colors . . .
“it dispels the endless english gloom darling!”
if she only knew . . .
i would dearly love some english rain!!!!
i do also love the happy colors of this room.
it’s cozy but not too awfully cluttered.
just right for comfort.
the light from the windows and the greenery
well . . .
so . . . you read on . . .
and enjoy yourself.
i’ll just be in the kitchen chatting with old pen.
it’s so beautiful . . .
we might just take our tea out to the garden.
to sit on her english terrace.
to breath fresh moist country air!
just saying . . .
” it’s so nice penelope . . .
you know . . .
have your strawberries blow off your plate
by the powerful constant oklahoma
penelope finds me very funny.
she’s going to have us take our things up to our rooms.
mine is overlooking the garden she said.
i think i’d like to change clothes and
maybe i’ll see a little hedgehog in the hedges.
this is my room???
oh pen. you old thing.
you’ve outdone yourself!
can’t imagine anything lovelier for my stay!
fresh flowers. so english.
and you know how i love an open window . . .
to let in the wonderful cool breezes.
and to maybe hear the rain later . . .
not sure my jeans and little shirt
are quite up to standard here!
oh? but what?
that’s what you appreciate about me?
my total lack of propriety?
you old dear.
what a lovely way to put it.
to describe tactfully someone
who loves beauty . . . but not enough
to bother to dress any way but
how kind you are.
i did bring my single strand of pearls you know.
it’s the least i can do.
so i shall wear them tonight to the pub.
with my jeans and lovely sandals and
a fresh white shirt.
i will feel requisitely very
shall we go down . . .
hello old bean!!!
isn’t this just grand?
i think i should rescue you
we will find ourselves
very much in the present age
tonight we will toast to
fantastical and fantasy
or is it
or is it . . .
til soon old bean.
