” KALTXI “
i’m a little late to the game i’d say!
you’ve all no doubt seen it.
it was made in 2009.
the imagination of
james cameron’s genius
and the combined creative talents of a multitude of people.
thank goodness for such creativity
that can transport us
literally to a new world!
a breathtakingly beautiful world
mystical and meaningful things.
this movie just took me right into that world.
well. not literally old bean!
or i might be having a little trouble
channeling the transmission here!
but . . .
what is not to love?
about . . .
. . . movie lover that i am . . .
i have only just now seen it!
hard to believe that i know.
the marine loaned me his dvd of it
before he went hiking in the mountains
two days ago.
i popped some popcorn
as i must for every movie!
my icy glass of water with straw all ready !
settled into my cozy white wicker chair with ottoman
and watched it last night.
i was as excited as a little kid.
i can only imagine what it was like to see it on the
like most of you did.
and i found in researching the pictures here . . .
james cameron will be premiering
the 2nd sequel at christmastime this year!
with the 3rd sequel yet the following year. 2015.
the next one is to be about the ocean of pandora
with the same stars . . .
sam worthington and zoe saldana as
jake skully and neytiri.
and james cameron is quoted as saying . . .
” a good portion of avatar sequels will be donated
to environmental causes. . . .
that are at the heart of the avatar world.”
since this first avatar
2.7 billion dollars at the box office when it played
not counting the dvd’s . . .
i’d say a percentage of any contribution would be
WHOOPS !!! I DIGRESS !!!
haven’t done that in a while!
it was a bad habit on the peanut if you recall.
so . . .
back to avatar!
here i am munching on popcorn . . .
suddenly i’m catapulted into an incredible world.
the world of
there it is.
behind our little earth.
we apparently have destroyed much of our own planet
and now we are savagely pillaging theirs.
for . . .
you guessed it.
some valuable ore or some such thing . . .
that is buried beneath
the tree of life.
so . . .
it is OUR BUSINESS of course
or at least . . .
a giant nameless corporation is going to do it.
working in conjunction with some
hard nosed military types.
with terror~making invincible machines.
up against the
peaceful blue people
who only use
bows and arrows.
i’d say if you’re an american indian
this movie hit home on many levels.
i know there was a lot of rap about it when it first came out.
something about using film for his own political beliefs
i couldn’t care less about any of that.
someone inevitably has to ridicule any work of art.
and believe me.
this is a work of art.
the man is a fantastic story teller!
he gave us
the titanic too.
and made us feel like we were right there
on the ship.
I FELT IT!
i don’t really excel at movie critiques.
i’ll leave that up to
my dearest rummy.
and my newest friend wilson.
i really mean alan g.
i just like calling him wilson.
it’s an inside joke you know.
they’re both VERY good at it on their blogs.
though their blogs are about much more than mere movies!
you’ll find both of their blogs in my side bar of friends.
do check them out!
rummy . . . ramana’s musings
alan . . . some final thoughts
but this movie.
that i’m 5 whole years late in viewing . . .
just nigh onto blew me away old bean !
it’s so visually stunning!
and the music!
and even though there are many fierce battles
which are never my cup of tea . . .
and ALWAYS go on too long in my estimation
whatever the movie . . .
i actually consider avatar a love story.
truly. a beautiful love story.
with the underlying lesson
caregiving of nature and
whether this world
it has courage against all odds.
impossible imaginary effects.
breathtaking vistas and action.
best of all . . .
for our planet.
for our trees.
for people who care.
for people who know that our earth
is not so big
that it can’t be used up.
” OEL NGATI KAMELE “
i see you.
til soon old bean.
