1. all the people in this world who are on the front lines of rescuing animals.
all the animals ~ both wild and otherwise. who are abused and poached and
killed in horrendous ways that society seems to accept so easily.
these are the people who get their hands dirty and their hearts broken
over and over and over. and yet they keep on helping these helpless creatures.
2. for the lamplight on my desk. its glow of golden light on this overcast day
warms my heart and makes it a cosy place to write.
thank you mr nikola tesla.
you . . . so easily forgotten and overshadowed by cruel and greedy mr edison . . .
you didn’t electrocute poor dogs as a sideshow to promote this wonder.
you simply gave it to the world in spite of the titans of industry that ruined your life.
3. for just being able to sit here and be anywhere actually!
for the surgeon that pretty much probably saved my life. since it was cancer and all.
and for getting well and stronger by the minute. yes!
much to be thankful for.
4. to be a talkative sometimes grumpy stubborn opinionated old hermit . . .
and yet still to have so many wonderful friends in my corner . . . well !
wow ! nigh onto blows my mind away in this oklahoma wind !
most thankful for all of you!
5. for the marine.
just the word brother is dear to my heart.
he’s got your back.
i hope you have one like mine.
he’s quiet yes. sometimes even remote.
but he’s THERE for me. always.
6. and finally . . .
for the amazing fact that i seem to be losing weight!
what a sweet little gift to have for this time of year particularly.
a post surgical miracle. that’s what it is !
and it may not even last. which is fine too.
i have finally come to terms with just being me.
a plump little partridge. i will be happy either way.
i’ve always been partial to partridges. LOL.
i hope your thanksgiving day coming soon is full of love and understanding and
all the things that you’re grateful for in your own life old bean.
it’s the most cherished holiday for most americans i think.
and we’re only too happy to share it with all of our friends that live beyond these shores!
and . . . . lastly . . .
i’m thinking i’m thankful for meeting a very important person.
you might enjoy visiting one of my older posts about him.
you can find it in the side bar
‘ the birth of my simple life at 16 ‘
i’m sorry you’ll have to scroll down in the ‘posts’ box a bit to the ” T’s “
but it’s worth it!
it’s an homage and thank you to one of my heroes!
he continues to be an inspiration and is always worth re~visiting.
if he could have only known how loved he would become.
he was never fully appreciated in his own lifetime.
he’s worth knowing.
til soon old bean
