before this thankful thursday’s post . . .
i’d like to thank ALL of you wonderful peanut friends that commented on
the last post . . . LIFE! and didn’t get a reply.
i valued every single response.
thanks so much for stopping by and sharing about your own WAVES!
celeste . . . what a wonderful profound thought.
tracy . . . facing your own waves. thoughts with you dear northern girl.
and julia . . . it’s a winner ~ keep swimming !!!
and . . . special reply to rv braveheart. i disagree.
ANY lady who drives across this country alone in an rv in today’s world
IS very brave indeed. and that is YOU. preferring other than a cold climate is
NOT running away!!! i think it is merely a preference my rv braveheart!
on with this rantingly thankful post of today!!! LOLOL.
do you remember ?
do you remember ?
it really wasn’t so long ago. well. LOL. maybe it was. i forget how old i am! LOL.
anyway . . . when i was a ‘teen’ . . .
there were ‘nice’ girls. i suppose we were labeled that ~ as opposed to the what ?
the ‘bad’ girls ? sad. i mean that people labeled other people.
i was called a nice girl before i even knew what it meant.
i don’t like ‘labeling’ people. then . . . or now. i think it’s demeaning.
i was never into labels or cliques in high school.
you know . . .
all the little things that SEPARATE kids in a high school setting.
i tried to make friends with EVERYBODY. it’s the only way really.
i was always the “new girl” anyway . . . and soon gone. so it never mattered much.
my father was super strict. i didn’t even get to date solo until i was 16.
i suppose that’s unheard of today. in a time when mothers are taking their
12 year old daughters to get them BIRTH CONTROL PILLS ???? !!!!! OMG.
i still have trouble believing that one. but i understand it’s quite common now.
good grief charlie brown! i was still playing hop scotch and jacks . . . and bike riding . . .
and building forts outside with the marine! and . . . then
i was busy designing clothes for my favorite paper dolls!
in short . . .
i was still a little girl at the age of 12.
not so much can be said for . . . some . . . or rather a LOT of the 12 year olds today.
what prompted this post was an older girl twerking in a local strore here.
i suppose she was college age. she had on SHORT shorts and a tank top.
what are we becoming? what kind of society? does it seem we’re going backwards to you?
when young girls are imitating baboons by waving their bare or almost bare
BUTTOCKS in our faces. CONSTANTLY. and thinking they’re simply adorable?
am i the only one that finds this so repulsive i want to throw up?
plus. the amazing thing about it. you don’t even have to go out of your way to SEE IT !!!!
i saw this young girl TWERKING in the grocery aisle the other day. honestly.
right there in the canned goods. now that was intelligent.
at least she didn’t catch herself on fire like the one on the news recently.
although now they’re admitting that viral video was a stunt pulled by a comedian on tv.
but even THAT !!! good grief. like THAT is entertainment ??? !!!
WHAT IS HAPPENING TO US ? . . .
when our daughters and granddaughters are looking up to young women like THIS one ???
and believe me . . . many of them think she’s all kinds of COOL.
or HOT . . . as it were.
she seems to be enthralled with her own giraffe tongue.
i say it’s an insult to wonderful real giraffes everywhere.
i didn’t watch whatever show this was.
but she got what she wanted from that awful performance. cheap publicity.
it was plastered EVERYWHERE you went.
you couldn’t help but see it. for days on end.
which was the whole point i’m sure.
i walked into cracker barrel for breakfast and there on the newsstand
was this picture.
here is the result of that kind of emulation at too young an age . . .
seriously? that’s just pathetic.
this you say . . . is a thankful thursday post . . .
where’s your gratitude? LOL.
all you’ve done is moan and groan about the girls of today. THIS is a rant !!!
that’s just it.
i’m thankful for the nice girls out there. and there are LOTS and LOTS of them.
yes. still. and i’m thankful for the parents and grandparents who are raising them.
nana diana has three coming up ~ beautiful and wholesome and natural.
and marisa is bringing up a lovely darling little lady.
and the babies that are coming on . . . precious moment and dreamy eyes . . .
their parents will be raising nice girls . . .
and i know i’ve probably missed your own here old bean . . .
and there are many others even in my own life if i give it longer thought
and more space here. but you get the message . . .
and for ALL of them i’m thankful. aren’t you?
they must be protected and guided. because the road for them ahead
is not an easy one. we thought ours was hard !
ours was a piece of cake compared to what these girls face every day.
from their peers. from the media. from the people they supposedly look up to.
if we keep on at this rate in this country . . . half the population will be walking around
naked and doing the act in the road or on park benches or . . .
well . . . from the twerking i saw in the grocery store ~ to having sex there ?
sorry. but at the rate we’re going . . . i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a common thing
BUT YES !
the nice girls. (and i truly HATE any label) but i didn’t know any other way to put it
for this post’s purposes. so forgive me for straying from my usual norm.
there are still plenty of them out there to be thankful for !
look at this bunch below!
it just makes you break into a big smile! at least it does me old bean.
aren’t these just as cute as buttons?
where in the world did that old expression come from!
“cute as a button!” LOL. i remember my gram saying that.
apparently buttons used to be very cute. LOLOL.
these are normal looking little girls. they are not vamping the camera
and thinking about something they’re way too young to think about yet.
no makeup. no red lipstick. nor sexy poses here.
just nice little girls. how REFRESHING is that?
here’s a picture of some from the U.K. girl guides . . . just a wee bit older.
similar to america’s girl scouts no doubt.
hello little LADIES !
if you only knew what a pure pleasure it is to see you here.
there are even some of the older ones who are out there who are nice.
granted . . . they’re becoming even more rare than their younger counterparts.
but they’re there.
the sweet wholesome good girl teenager or college student. the one that studies. yet still has fun.
but keeps her clothes on. and the clothes she wears do not leave her half naked.
she dances but she doesn’t twerk her butt all over us in public.
she has fun. but she has values.
she respects herself. and she respects others.
that’s pretty much it in a nutshell. i think it’s mainly about respect really.
and for the most part . . . people have lost respect for EVERYTHING today.
property. life. morals.
you name it. it’s a free~for~all.
pictures don’t tell that much of course. but sometimes there is just a look . . .
an innocence in the face perhaps . . . simply a gracious quality in the eyes or smile.
some of our young peanut readers have it.
elizabeth . . . and . . . ‘island dreamin’ julia . . . and leslie . . .
talk about lovely young ladies with their heads on straight!
there is HOPE !!!
perhaps this one is a little too CALIFORNIA GIRL for your taste?
i know. i know. the stereotypical golden girl of america.
BUT read on . . .
let me tell you something i found out ! it isn’t that easy to find general pictures of regular nice
girls that are FULLY DRESSED and wholesome looking! who would have thought it?
not i ! but i had a really hard time of it. and i can usually ALWAYS find images of what i want.
look at this lovely young lady.
in her country’s traditional dress. she is simply beautiful.
why on earth . . .
. . . why on earth
does such a majority of this generation and actually the last few i’m thinking . . .
why do they think that sex appeal is a PUBLIC thing? and growing ever more so?
do they know nothing of the value of
the sweet mystery ?
the art of it ? the art of leaving something to be discovered ?
making love is an art.
and seduction is an art.
it is not a half naked disgustingly degrading free for all that you
do up against any vacant wall.
even the apes don’t lower themselves to that behavior.
sadly enough . . .
this is what happens to our nice girls . . .
see the little tear on that young and tender cheek ?
do not give up. nor give in. stay a lady.
there is a young man out there that will value that in you.
and he is worth waiting for. do not be bullied into being something you are not.
these are the ones i’m thankful for.
and these are the ones we need to protect. we have to protect them.
cyber bullying is very real. and causing deaths in these young girls.
pressure. to be old before their time. and the worst ones who do it are
not guys . . BUT OTHER GIRLS.
can you believe that! well. yes i can.
this is a picture.
but it is all too real. i have seen these faces in real life.
some of you may find this picture very beautiful.
and i suppose it is.
but to me it is almost creepy.
i have seen these perfect little faces. perfect makeup. on faces too young.
but . . .
the most frightening thing about it to me is
the vacant stare.
the vacant stare.
they give you your order. they give you your change. they look
it is as if there is no one in there.
i know . . . that’s an old joke . . .
HELLO ! IS ANYBODY IN THERE ?
but it’s true. and if it’s true . . . then what is that saying about the state of
our collective mental health? these ‘children’ who are moving into the sexual lives of
supposed adults . . . before their childhood is even over . . .
i suppose it’s going to be a very interesting sociological study for someone to make.
perhaps the peanut shouldn’t worry about it.
the peanut should simply state . . .
we’re thankful for every one of you that has a nice girl you’re raising.
we appreciate you. and so do the future generations!
SO . . .
here’s another wonderful shot of some wonderful little girls . . .
just being what nature intended them to be for awhile yet . . .
nice little girls !!! LOLOL !
i am so thankful.
til soon old bean.
til soon !
oh . . .
hey . . .
in the meantime . . .
feast your eyes on some other nice girls
who pretty much knew the art of love and seduction
and didn’t need to TWERK
to get the world’s attention . . .
and our favorite girl of all time
eat your heart out miley cyrus.
i feel sorry for you.
