the perfect image of summer.
the light shines through the glass and you know it’s icy cold.
you drink and drink.
for soon it will be over for another year.
clarity of vision.
a youthful heart always
even if not a youthful face like the one here.
the warmth of the summer sun
always promises to come again.
can relax like a kitty.
it’s a gift.
one worth studying.
i plum forgot!
it’s august. it’s nigh onto fall!
and i haven’t even eaten any watermelon yet!
where have i been!!!!
what have i been doing!!!!
i could sleep here.
and this is my most favoritest kind of sleeping partner.
no. not the one in the black socks.
i call this style.
some of us are never ready.
the light and the herbs and the little green plants.
and the blue glass jar.
the great blue glass jar.
i’m just happy.
we sat at this table.
it was afternoon.
it was cool in there.
but we were warm inside ourselves.
it was nice.
i came very close to feeding a wild grey timber wolf once.
in northern Minnesota.
there was a great forest and a river behind our house.
it was 40 degrees below zero.
he was lean.
he stood in front of me with his head down and his eyes looking up.
taking in my scent
i had scraps in my hand.
i was ready to put them in the trash can by the back steps.
i had said . . .
“oh . . . poor doggy.”
my daddy had come out at that same exact time.
i don’t know why.
he said very quietly
“tammy. throw the food to the right and move slowly backwards. i’m right here .”
i feel very small.
i’m not a tea drinker.
but i so like the idea of tea.
the art of tea.
not just in the making of it.
but the world of tea.
my little jacob likes sweet iced tea.
he even likes it better than sodas.
THIS i call traveling in style.
a note to bob.
we had 16 years together. a lifetime compared to some.
i really didn’t intend to not re~marry.
it’s just that nobody ever measured up.
you set the bar too high.
you were my best friend.
husbands are easy to come by.
best friends . . .
not so much.
and to end this post . . .
here’s a not so subliminal message for you !!!
today i’m going to have one of these old bean!
i highly recommend it for what ails you.
and if nothing ails you… then it’s a celebration!
and to finish up the evening later . . .
another healthy choice . . .
wait for it . . .
BUT OF COURSE !!!
do i know how to live or what?
i get to pick the movie!
til soon old bean.
all but the last two pictures are courtesy of filomena’s market.
the last two…
