ARE YOU READY !!!! ?
it’s THE FOURTH!
in two more days. actually. i’m jumping the gun just a bit.
but i don’t know if i’ll be blogging over the holiday . . . so
thought i’d celebrate it with you now old bean!
everybody in america knows what that means.
july 4 ~ 1776.
i’m a proud american yes!
but truth to tell . . .
i’m a proud EARTHLING first.
i love most every country on this planet.
they all have something special about them.
the people. the culture. the terrain. the weather. the history.
so . . . i guess that makes me a proud american earthling instead of just a proud american.
(it’s the dang politicians and power mongers most of us can’t stand!)
but most generally the people are wonderful and want the same things we want.
to simply see their beloved children grow up okay.
we’re all connected really. simply by having human dna.
no matter color ~ size ~ race ~ creed ~ though i have to admit ~ some creeds now
~ just as many other creeds did in man’s long past warring years have ~
well . . . they are taking their beliefs with
a dose of violence against their fellow man. and sadly they are the miscreants of their sects.
but it will surely all sort itself out in the end. as it has throughout the ages . . .
we can’t let it get us down. history has proven that time and time again.
man just seems to be determined to try to annihilate himself! and others periodically!
so . . .
in honor of future times when things are better between all the enemies
on the current stage . . .
i want to publicly admit . . . right here on the peanut . . .
i especially love our old enemy!
i’m a dyed in the wool anglophile from WAYYYYYY back.
my ancestors came from there. england. and ireland. but mostly england.
and just think . . .
237 short years ago these comments of mine would have had me
SHOT AT DAWN!
i would be considered a lilly livered yellow bellied TRAITOR!!!
but instead. . . now we’re friends. isn’t that nice?
and i have to tell you old bean . . .
nobody does a more elegant picnic than our british friends!
but before we eat . . .
lets have some more beautiful fireworks ! ! !
that’s really what the 4th is all about now and we know it! LOL.
whether a country setting like this
over the gorgeous skyline of new york
or an exotic japanese display. this looks like a spectular spray of flowers to me!
pink cherry blossoms shooting to the stars!
always . . . always! . . . more magical over any water. the glow just emanates . . .
oooh …. awwww ….
are you bored yet? sorry.
i love these!!! only thing better … to actually BE THERE!
that one is especially beautiful to me. just the contrast and shadows ~ sparkling light and dark and smoke.
and the last one . . .
off to the picnic.
well. i’ve got this all backwards. we were supposed to picnic all day THEN have fireworks!
LOL. oh well. anything’s possible in blogland.
OH! you want to go swimming first? OK.
look at the shoes . . . they’re right back in style!
seriously old bean . . . it all comes back around eventually. over and over.
these are american beauties. notice not an anorexic one in the bunch.
and still i think they’re very beautiful.
we’re off to merry olde england!
to enjoy the art of the english picnic!
perhaps ladies day at ascot?
i can’t even picture a picnic like that here where i live.
first of all . . . you can never have a cloth. it blows right off the table.
or even off the ground. sometimes people put big rocks on the corners to hold it down.
now that’s really elegant. big rocks.
a bit of rowing to work up an appetite? and with such beautiful scenery…
we’re about to come upon an old castle in the distance. . .
lovely. mismatched china. makes anything you eat so delicious.
not a paper plate nor styrofoam cup to be found.
not only elegant. but GREEN! . . . so important for our children’s world.
simple lovely little sandwiches.
and more than likely some tea.
not a hot dog or hamburger in sight! LOL. eh WAT?
and don’t forget! my favorite!
the fresh strawberry cream tart! YUM.
since it really is an american holiday . . .
i think it’s high time we went back across the pond to america.
we’ve been known to throw a pretty darn nice picnic there too!
this is pretty much the standard fare . . .
hamburgers. hot dogs. chips. corn on the cob. french fries.
and probably pie or homemade ice cream and brownies for dessert!
and don’t forget the paper plates. AAAGGGGHHHH!
naw. seriously old bean. a good time is had by all.
as a veggie person i eat the baked beans and potato salad and YUM!
you know what i like for dessert if i can’t have the strawberry tart ~
BUT OF COURSE!
well . . .
the sun is setting low . . .
NOW is when i should have put in the pictures of the fireworks. silly tammy.
but you can scroll back up. or better yet . . .
enjoy them in your own home town in a couple of days!
i wish each and every one of you old bean . . .
a most glorious holiday !
and to my non american friends . . .
join in and have your own celebration . . .
heck! there’s ALWAYS something to celebrate . . .
just even life it’s own self ! LOL.
til soon old bean.
