the door to imagination.
i had this post ready to go the day we got hit by the mammoth F5 tornado.
it’s a post about what i would do if money were no object.
in a way it seems frivolous now. but then i got to thinking.
now if i had that kind of money i would of course help the devastation.
my heart goes out to all those people who’ve lost everything and will rebuild their lives.
it’s those who lost loved ones and children that no amount of money can replace.
they are in my heart. cradled there in shared grief.
i’m proud of our people here. you hear little complaining now. they’re simply getting on.
no looters. just our friendly oklahoma neighborliness and determination.
so. in their honor . . .
and to lighten our hearts ~ i’ve decided to go ahead and post this as originally planned.
such beautiful pictures from talented photographers.
i’m thinking today of young mothers everywhere. frazzled and fatigued beyond belief.
you know the ones. the ones who hold down a full time job and still keep
the home afloat.
fixing meals. making sure there are clean clothes. keeping a path through
the living room at least! LOL.
breaking up fights between siblings. worrying about bills. buying food.
stretching an already stretched budget.
i am not belittling the importance of the father in the homelife. no never!
heaven knows the contribution of a good husband and father!
i’m saying . . .
from the time she endures the carrying of the child for 9 months
and the changes in her body ever after and even if she doesn’t have her children
that way particularly . . . simply being a woman is a chore! LOL.
the hormonal thing that seems to go on forever anyway ~ for all of us! . . .
this post is for her.
the title is ‘if i did.’
that means if i did have Millions and Gazillions and Trillionzillions of dollars ~ what would i do?
well . . .
after setting up a program to feed the starving peoples of the world
and after saving ALL the factory farm animals. and providing homes and . . .
well. i told you it was a MGT budget and even more! . . .
but all that goes unsaid.
after i had done all that of course
i would turn my attention to the tired mothers of this world.
i would have spas for just mothers.
each one could visit one of my spas at no expense to her.
if it wasn’t near her . . . i would pay her way there.
see the picture above?
imagine yourself walking to dinner across that little bridge.
the night is warm but there is just enough of a cool breeze.
you are on your way to eating a healthy meal prepared just for you.
you didn’t have to think about it or cook it. it’s just there.
you can eat it in solitude or in the company of other mothers.
that is up to you. this is your place. your silence. your refreshment.
you would be welcomed with calm.
and beauty everywhere.
this would be your place. your days. your nights.
no worries here.
the tea would be refreshing. you are free here. to simply be.
you can walk. we have beautiful grounds here. the air is perfect.
not too hot. a bit warm with a soft cool breeze. oh but in autumn!
you must come back in autumn! but then that’s a whole other post.
today you are simply here and resting from the world.
you will be pampered here.
taking care of our feet. so so so important!
nothing is more refreshing to a tired spirit
healthy drinks here for you.
you’ll feel rejuvenated in no time!
and we don’t judge! heck. if this is more your style ~
then i say ” GO FOR IT ! “
this is about you. this is your spa.
there is power and majesty in water.
it is an element that means life itself.
nothing survives without water. plant nor animal.
as you rest here . . . think of your life as the white sands of this beach.
the waves wash away the traces.
the footprints of loneliness. and despair. and fatigue. and worry.
there is nothing to worry about.
you only ever have this day. whatever is said. that is the simple truth.
all the worry in the world is pointless. life can make something different in an instant.
you have new worries! LOLOL.
i’m trying to learn not to worry about things myself. we’ll learn together!
but for now . . .
at my spa . . .
it’s simply not allowed. not for you. not for me.
and the sad sister of worry is also not allowed in this spa.
she is regret.
yes. a silly sister indeed.
nope. the door is not open to either of them.
it’s open only to you.
there is a french writer i like. her name is veronique vienne.
she writes small books of big wisdom.
two favorites of mine are ‘the art of imperfection.’ and ‘the art of the moment.’
“. . . joie de vivre as the french call it ~ is pure joy of living.
a form of cheerfulness that ignores rationalization.”
i love that!
and we can have it. it’s simply a rational matter of making up our minds to it! LOL.
get a good night’s sleep. maybe your first in awhile!
in the morning you can sleep in if you like.
or you can rise early and have your coffee or juice on the terrace.
perhaps you prefer this room at the edge of a forest.
the bird sounds are exotic.
they are friendly reminders that life is good.
whatever that life might be.
it’s growing dark. the morning will be soon.
you leave tomorrow.
but you will take with you the memories of this spa.
it’s yours whenever you can spare a minute. and close a door.
and sit quietly. and remember to open another door.
the door of imagination.
the one at the beginning of this post.
its ours to go through at will.
anything we can imagine we can live for moments in our mind.
what a gift!
it’s not wasted time at all. it rests the spirit.
the world is moving so very fast. and full of dangers and sadness at every turn.
you owe it to yourself to stay refreshed.
you’re a giver. but with that giving comes exhaustion.
when it all becomes too much
just lie back in our spa. think nothing for awhile.
for just a little while you have been taking care of you.
you can visit here anytime you like. our door is always open.
remember the name of the post.
if i did.
you can do it!
you can be like this little person.
they know how to greet the day.
come to think of it . . . they know how to live this life.
well. time for you to go.
but come back soon.
come whenever you need a rest.
the door of imagination is always open to you.
i wish you love.
and you have our admiration you know.
you mothers of the world’s new generations. it’s a huge job you have.
til soon then old bean.
