i spent the entire day with the marine.
most peanut readers know he’s my brother.
if you’re new and would like to meet him ~
pictures and all ~
(he’s gonna hate this)
just go to the past ‘posts’ and first click on
‘i know a marine.’
and then any posts with marine in the title.
he’s worth knowing.
we had a grand time.
i always enjoy his company.
we have our moments. don’t get me wrong!
we are human after all.
but he is my best friend in the whole world.
he just also happens to be my only brother.
my only anything really.
i have no other siblings.
i’m grateful for that guy.
this is the skyline of tulsa.
we traveled there today.
a truly beautiful city.
always has been.
we put flowers in the cemetery for his wife and my husband.
who would have thought
two little kids
fighting like cats and dogs growing up
could be so close now
and each losing our other selves so early.
strange the way the world wags.
i am grateful
i no longer have to traverse that big
bustling city alone.
he doesn’t mind traffic. i do.
one of my favorite things in the whole world.
something i never
take for granted.
a fresh hot shower!
it you’re tired it invigorates you.
if you’re in need of relaxing it’s like
well ~ it’s like standing in the rain without worrying about lightning!
i am grateful for my shower.
in the morning i shall have a cup of this.
it took me awhile to learn to like coffee.
bob drank it. i was a coke drinker.
not pepsi. coke. and yes. you know there’s a difference.
just ask one or the other’s preference!
when i finally acquired the taste for a good cup of black coffee
well ~ i understand what the big fuss is all about.
i can do without it. i’m not that much of a hound.
but ~ it is comforting in a way that other things can never be.
probably EXACTLY how the english feel about their tea!
i am grateful for that cup of coffee.
it’s simply friendly somehow.
this is pretty friendly stuff too!
i plan to have one of these sometime this weekend.
heaven in a bowl. a glass. whatever!
just give me a spoon and back off.
what? yes. i know.
and i don’t worry about ANY of that.
i don’t have these all that often. and as i’ve said here before
well . . .
the peanut is all about the simple joy of life.
the joy of living that life with no guilt no fear and no regrets.
it’s a wonderful way to live.
throw in a good strong dose of gratitude
and you have
you have it.
til soon old bean.
i’m also grateful for you old bean.
