this is me.
i’m an embarrassed smiley face.
at the outpouring of support and love that came my way yesterday
and still today.
i knew i felt that way about all of you.
but i had no idea it was so returned!
and the message i got from it all is what prompted this post.
and since it’s a little story ~ yes ~ wait for it ~
it’ll probably be longer than my new goal of being SHORTER.
you were right in your first guess.
wow! it’s really kind of beautiful isn’t it?
harbor of hong kong.
beautiful too. in a different way.
and yet a bit formidable.
i’m a light sleeper. i sleep kind of like a cat.
they seem to get plenty of rest.
but they also seem to wake up at the drop of a quiet hat.
also . . . i’m a morning person i guess you’d say.
about 9 o’clock p.m. i start fading.
at 10 or 10:30 p.m. i’m more or less with you
only in spirit. LOL.
i know. how exciting is she folks?
don’t answer that.
my darling bob on the other hand was an amazing
morning person and night person both!
he could stay up very very late and still get up early.
he actually required very little sleep.
one night very late ~ or very early ~ however you want to
look at it. around 1:30 or 2 am . . .
i awoke. i heard the tv. i walked into the living room.
there he was. happily watching.
i hugged him from behind the sofa. just his neck you know.
then i stood there a moment.
“what in the world are you watching?” . . . me.
“these are giant cabbages. attacking the hong kong harbor” . . . him.
WHAT??? !!!! . . . guess who said that.
yes. my beloved would watch anything you say.
he also loved documentaries and real science and other
mentally satisfying and challenging stuff.
but he had this weakness for science fiction.
even BAD. VERY BAD science fiction.
he thought people’s imaginations were wonderful.
“i’ll be in bed in a little while. it’s almost over.”
“well i wonder who’ll win? the cabbages or the harbor?”
“well. good night darling. i love you anyway.”
are you bored yet? cause the best part is coming!
or . . .
on second thought . . .
i’ll tell you the second part tomorrow.
that way i’ll shorten this post
and have a nice fairly short one tomorrow too!
who says you can’t kill one long bird with a short stone?
i just made that up.
i’m not for killing birds anyway.
see you tomorrow old bean!
til then. then.
it’s a real ‘ epiphany ‘ ! ! !
you’re right. it didn’t rain.
and p.s. number 2
to all the friends who commented
and are so caring
and actually had such good words to make me
feel better and to make this
a better peanut . . .
and . . .
will she never stop?
p.s. number 3
don’t think you have to comment every time on
pooh and i know you’re there. and now we know
you really really like us!
just like sally field! and that’s enough for our egos.
see you tomorrow old bean.
