hello old bean!
for those of you not retired
i hope this is the beginning of a wonderful weekend!
but fridays still feel very special to me.
downright festive somehow.
even when i worked those 25 years ~
i loved mondays.
and hey old bean.
here’s the deal.
when you’re a worker and a monday lover . . .
you learn very early on to keep QUIET about it.
because . . .
it’s bad enough that you’re a
you know . . .
and if you’re cheerful on a Monday ~
not the way to win friends and influence people. LOLOL.
but. i digress.
see that picture above?
for all of you except the newest readers of the peanut ~
you know that i recently sold my house
and moved to my
tiny little darling ~ LITTLE ~ apartment
called the ‘wren house.’
you remember . . .
i named it that because it’s so small. just the right size!
525 square feet.
i’ll get to the picture in a minute. i promise.
on fridays i clean the wren house.
it takes about 45 minutes or less.
i move all the chairs. (white wicker arm chairs)
and the small glass topped tables.
hoover the carpet
sweep the balcony
clean the bathroom and the vanity sink
and clean the galley.
that’s it. done.
the picture above is me.
as you know. i’m a minimalist who loves the simple life.
i like warmth and coziness without the clutter.
i get the warmth and coziness through texture and color and wood instead.
that picture just does something for me.
clean. spare. simple. warmth. comfort.
i could eventually create that look in my own sleeping alcove.
it is something fun to think about.
right now i have a beautiful quilt that reve’ made for me.
she’s the marine’s daughter in law
and mother to his little grandsons who are on there way
to spend spring break here ~
even as i write this.
if you’d like to see . . .
her picture is with my nephew
in the category ‘the good ones’ . . .
‘a kid called tiger.’
a gorgeous pair indeed. inside and out.
the quilt hangs on the wall above my bed
and makes a lovely headboard.
in front of it is an ivory colored metal garden trellis.
the trellis has a few tiny birds sitting on branches.
thus . . . perfect for the wren house.
i sleep with the wrens!
on the queen bed is a soft cream colored blanket.
the quilt is alternating squares of seafoam green and pale yellow.
against snow white bed pillows are
one rose colored pillow and two pillows the color of a pale beach.
it’s all very beautiful. it makes me happy.
but i do like that room above.
and i like these too
think it probably has more to do with the view! LOL.
ah. love that.
my glass tables give that kind of feeling.
when you’re short on space
they give a spacious and airy feel like nothing else can.
they reflect the morning sunlight in the room.
and at night they reflect the glow of the small lamplights.
someday . . .
if i ever get the hang of transferring the old digital camera pictures
to this new computer
that is still totally greek to me . . .
i’ll post some pictures of the wren house.
til then old bean . . .
i’ve enjoyed cleaning day and dreaming a bit about pretty rooms
have a wonderful weekend. and . . .
shhhh . . .
a FABULOUS MONDAY!!! LOL
