the balcony with french doors.
no. fortunately this is not the view from my humble little balcony.
this may be the 8th arrondissment in paris.
i say fortunately ~ because i really wouldn’t want to live there.
my marine is here. on the prairie.
and though i adore the architecture of london and paris ~
i am a perfectly happy wren in my own little flat upstairs with my own
plain little balcony right where i am.
the walter tammy mitty in me
has to admit . . .
in my mind’s eye
the view from my wee balcony is every bit as beautiful.
because you see . . . there’s my favorite kind of day going on outside!
lightning and thunder and soft rain falling straight down!
i have the french door open onto my balcony.
there is a small roof over the doorway so it’s not raining in.
only the freshest of air and the sounds of the happy birds and the huge
thunder make their way into this small beautiful room.
if you lived here you would understand how very special this rain is.
it is a time for celebration.
but i have to admit.
every day i seem to celebrate something.
i don’t mean to sound so pollyanna. i know that gets tiresome.
i try to hide it.
well. i do. a little bit anyway!
but i am a pollyanna walter mitty type and that’s that.
just in the old dna i guess.
not to say i don’t know reality.
it’s just that i prefer the way i see things.
and that is always with a romanticism that makes life very beautiful.
don’t you simply love balconies?
some are literally in the trees!
and then . . .
there are balconies like these in milan
where over 900 trees are growing.
as much as i love trees . . .
and you all know how very much that is . . .
i find this a little disconcerting
to say the least!
i hope a good engineer planned this thing
i cannot imagine the headlines around the world
if disaster strikes.
not for me to worry about.
i’ll show you again my style of balcony here at the wren house
not exactly the 8th arrondissment!
this tammy mitty looks out at the rain and sees only beauty
and only a beautifully plain balcony
since she is tammy MITTY
she can also see this if she so chooses . . .
ah . . . .
it seems to be raining in paris too.
hope your view pleases you too old bean!
and of course . . .
just for the captain . . .
