you know something?
i miss the magic voices.
all those people above had something in common.
they had magic in their voices.
a distinctive sound
all their own.
and only a few today have voices like the magical ones that were . . .
to name just two
whose voices are distinct from others.
there are some more of course . . . but
neither time nor space permitted me to include all the ‘voices’ . . .
sir laurence olivier
james earl jones
the very moment you hear them. you know.
i’m sure i’ve missed many that might be your own favorites.
but the reason i even made this post . . .
i just was wondering
what happened to the time when
there were such beautiful
voices that could only be
that one person?
you knew the minute you heard it . . .
who it was.
they were as unique
as their faces.
is it me?
or do most of the young actors now
all sound just alike?
and all the others ~
the voices of today.
they are all very accomplished and good actors.
nothing sets them apart to me.
maybe that’s a good thing for their careers.
i don’t know.
i only know i miss the uniqueness
of the great
the ones that i only watch and hear now on
classic movies or special programs
i either own or see on
a certain classics channel
that only shows all the precious films
that told good stories.
and had superb acting
magic in their voices.
AND . . .
for my friend rummy . . .
